x- or aus- ?

Maybe aus-darkinjung might be better, from a semantic standpoint and for utility (e.g. CSS styling of aus languages together)? I think RFC 3066's private-use x- prefix might be more suited for languages outside the scope of ISO 639's language tags altogether (such as protolanguages), just as we might use a private-use ISO 15924 tag to mark IPA transcriptions (Qipa?).
